Imagine a tapestry loom that weighs under 10 pounds, and folds flat so you can carry it in a suitcase and you can store it under a bed or in a closet. And imagine this loom equipped with effective shedding and tensioning devices, so that you could produce professional quality tapestries while riding in the passenger seat of a compact car. You have imagined the Hagen Tapestry Loom.
This innovative metal frame loom was developed in
Norway 30 years ago by metalsmith Hans Hagen in consultation with Norway's top weavers. It is now being produced by his son, Erling. No other tapestry loom offers the portability, versatility and professional quality of this loom.

In fact, Claudia was so impressed with our Hagen Loom,
that she incorporated most of its distinctive operational features in her recently introduced Mirrix tapestry looms.

The Hagen Tapestry Loom is available in three
sizes ranging from 50 cm to 100 cm (21"- 67"). Each
loom comes with a weaving frame, a table stand, warp
coils for 5, 6, 9, 10 or 12 epi and a two harness shedding device. The loom offers continuously adjustable warp
tension and interchangeable warp setts ranging from
5 to 12 epi. The ingenious two harness shedding device
with string heddles allows you to change sheds with a
flick of the wrist. We also include instructions for a wide
range of dressing and weaving options. These looms are
great for bead weaving too.

Accessories

The optional, adjustable floor stand fits all four frame
sizes and facilitates warping, especially for the larger
frames. This convenient stand allows you to set the
frame at any orientation you choose for your weaving
and includes a place to attach your work light.
A pair of extenders is also available, which allows you to
add up to 24 inches to the length of the continuous warp
on your frame, or to dress the loom for weaving on a
single plane.
